Longyan City has been listed into coastal open cities. Seven chengguan towns and eighteen industrial satellite towns in cities and counties within Longyan and P refecture enjoy the preferential policies of coastal open city zone. Longyan Kenkou Thermal Power Plant with two sets of installed cap acity fifty thousand kilowatts and Shanghang Jinshan Power Station with two sets of installed capacity twenty thousand lilowatts are being constructed. YongDong Meihuatan Hydroelectric power Station with installed capacity of six hundred th ousand kilowatts will be constructed during Eight Five year Plan.

Transport:
Highway network radiating in all directions, Longyan Prefecture has a good rransport. The ΅®319΅― and ΅®205΅― state class road run not only through a ll counties in the area but also to Fuzhou, Xiamen, Meizhou, Chaoshan, and Ganzh ou Prefecture. The road from Xiamen to national roads within Longyan prefecture is wide enough to transport containers.
