Fuzhou Free Trade Zone is located in Mawei port area on north bank of Min River on its lower reaches, Fujian,P.R.C. The port contains three river inside throughout oceans outside, East-port connect to Taiwan, north passing through Jiangxi and Zhejiang Province, south reaches Guangdong and Guangxi Province, west approach the capital city Fuzhou. It's famous port, one of the five opening Commercial Harbours for Business in contempary China. The port just 17 nauticalmiles east mouth of Min River, Mawei port is 149 nauticalmiles east mouth of Ji Long, 492 nauticalmiles north of Hong Kong, and 433 nauticalmiles south of Shanghai, It's has been histrical renown as chief hub fo commercial traffic of southeast Fujian Province.

Natrual Geograpy Condition:

Fuzhou Free Trade Zone is sittuated at the longitude 119°37'16", east laditude 25°59'00". It belong to subtropital marine climate,with average annual temperature is 19° - 21'C,and the relative humidity 81%. leading wind direction is north -west wind and average annual rain fall of 1319.3 mm. Mawei is mild climate always like spring all the year around.

The geogrophic structure of Mawei is on the east fringe of new cathaysian (structural)system; The second doubled swell band of southeast coast of China, and east side of Fuzhou Basin. belong to drowned vally guifmigretion Sand stocking of Min River estury, The Quarternary system thinkness in the district is general 30 - 40m. and the thickness increaste from moutain side along the river. Transportation

Port: Mawei port has a long history, There are 10 wharves of 10,000 tonnage level and open sea routes to more than 60 countries and regions in the world. with cargo handling capacity up to 10 millon tons. within these, these 7 wharves is in the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone. Four of these had completed. (including 2 ports used for container. 2 for cargo and passenger transport port). Besides 3 more 100,000 tonnage wharves are underconstruction.

Highway: There are highway links mawei to everywhere. No.104 State Highway cross the Zone to downtown of Fuzhou with vehicle passing over twenty thousand shifts every day. The railway of Fuzhou and Mawei extends to all parts of the Country.

Railway The railway between Fuzhou and Wengzhou is the period of preparation for construction, and will strectch from Mawei to Zhejiang province. The Road in the Zone cross each other, it's plain terrain and broad.

Aviation The distance between Fuzhou Airport and Mawei is about 20 km. There have been open 30 domestic and international air routes in Fuzhou Airport with 200 flights per week. The Changle International Airport of Fuzhou, is seperated from Mawei only by a narrow strip of 45 million passengers handling capacty annual, it is expected to finished in 3 years. The Airport will be built as a giant stayed-cable bridge named Qinzhou to connect with Mawei.

Water Supply:

Fuzhou Free Trade Zone is rich in fresh water, a water works with daily supplying capality 100,000 tons. can meet demand of resident and industrial use.The applcation installation of water supply can be finished within 10 workdays. The second phase of enigneering project is in the preriod of prepration.

Electricity Supply:

The Huaneng Themal Power Plant installed with caacity of 1.4 milion kw faces the River, There is special transimmit line leading to the Zone Zone. There are three central power transmithing station in the Zone and have total cpacity of 426.000Kw.

Functions:

The economical functions of Fuzhou Free Trade Zone can be sorted as basic function and subsidary function, The basic function is developing international trade, trade with Taiwan, bonded storage and exported processing, the subsidary function is to develop monetary and insurance, commodity exhibition, port manangement, cargo transportation, information service and other relevant affairs.
