As a national experimental region for carrying out comprehensive reforms and one of the earliest coastal provinces open to the outside world, Fujian has made unprecedented social and economic achievements under socialist market economy mechanism with the advantage of its neighboring with Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao and thus brought about such and overall outward-oriented pattern as the establishment of  a special economic zone, Taiwan businessmen in vestment zones and tourist resorts. In a few short years, Fujian has made itself a lodestone that attracts most domestic and foreign investment. Spring of open door reforms is coming to with the rapid development of village and township enterprises, foreign funded enterprises or joint-ventures, private enterprises and household enterprises. The economic and trade cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan is futher accelerated. At present, the people of Fujian are seizing new opportunities and marching forward. With the given competitive edge, they are confident of scaling a new height and going towards the bright future.
